I've been to this salon a few times to get my hair dyed because I don't trust myself to do it so I opted for a professional. The first time I got it dyed, my hair was left bright orange (I wanted brunette) and I was told it would "fade" after washing it. However, the lady seemed to be in a rush and bleached my hair in less than an hour (and I have natural black hair), I was told by another hair salon that this is not normal and damaging to my hair as it felt like plastic. Professionals who do not care for their clients hair should not work at a hair salon? I went again after a few months but booked it with someone else and she did a pretty good job at getting rid of this orange mess. Until my last visit, my hair was completely ruined. I needed my roots touching up and asked if I could go darker as it's easier than going lighter but ended up with multiple banding all over my head. They wanted to send me home like that and told me it was fine... I wouldn't have known until my friend pointed it out as she came with me, I genuinely felt like bursting into tears. The worst part about it was the fact I was told that I needed to go bob length after growing it out for months. I didn't make a big fuss out of it as I was just keeping my tears in. Throughout all this, I could see them laughing at me from the corner of my eye when in fact they should have apologised. They tried blaming me by saying I left my roots to grow out too long but I had visited the salon for a touch up a few months ago. In the end they offered me a discount and I still had to pay for ruined hair I didn't want. I wouldn't go to this salon unless you want your hair to experience long term damage and trauma.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with James Ganley and the entire team at James Bushall, Edgbaston. From start to finish, my visits have been exceptional in every way. James G is the only hairdresser I trust with my hair! I've been a regular customer for around two years now, and I'll never go anywhere else. I appreciate that he listens to what I want, takes the time and care to style it afterwards, & we always have a great catch up! The staff are friendly, attentive and truly care about their work.

It was my first time at James bushell salon. I loved it 100% the staff are so friendly kind and approachable. The service is great. My stylist Tia welcomed me and talked through with me about what type of hairstyle I want ect. My stylist understood me and the type of hair style I want. Tia also offered me a drink Tea, Water and some biscuits. Wow! 👌 The outcome of my hair I loved it Amazing 100% it was exactly what I wanted. I have found my stylist Tia and my salon (James Bushell Hair) Highly recommended it.

I booked in with JB @ the calthorpe road branch after having a colour consult with Sophie. The process was seamless start to finish and i was really happy with the honest and straight forward advice i was given on the services and colour i could go for. Im really happy with my final look and recieved so many compliments about my hair ! Having had the same hairdresser for 20 years i was really nervous to switch but i feel really at ease now knowing iv found a suitable/reputable place i can use local to me! For anyone thinking of using them, they are not the cheapest around but im a firm believer in you get what you pay for! For transparency (and memory) i paid £180 for the colour (balayage)- £55ish for the cut and blowout - £30 for olplex treatment and a £20 surcharge as i have very long hair.

Easy to book online, great communication and reminders. My overall experience was terrific. Welcomed at the door, efficient staff and my chosen stylist introduced himself and made me feel comfortable immediately. Craig cut and styled my hair, he was proficient and understood exactly what I wanted, washed cut and blow dried in an hour, I felt great. My hair looks and feels amazing, I will definitely be returning.
